DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The Department of higher education and training (DHET) provides post school education and training so citizens can improve the quality of their lives. The department was specifically established to focus on post-school education and training holistically and has extended its scope of operations extensively. Its mission is to develop capable, well educated and skilled citizens who are able to compete in a sustainable, diversified and knowledge intensive international economy, which meet the development goals of the country.

NATIONAL SKILLS FUND

The National Skills Fund (NSF) provides funding to skill South Africa. It is here to provide funding for national skills development towards a capable workforce for an inclusive growth path. Its strategic goal is to provide funds to support projects that are national priorities in the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS), that advance Human Resource Development Strategy (HRDS) of South Africa and that support the NSA in its work.
