Oceans of Art: Creativity for Sustainability Project Launch

SAIMI is launching the Oceans of Art: Creativity for Sustainability Project on 9th October 2024. The Oceans of Art project seeks to raise awareness about ocean sustainability and the vital role of ocean stewardship through community-driven, collaborative art initiatives. By merging visual and performing arts with scientific research, environmental education, and science communication, the project fosters a deeper connection to the ocean and encourages actions to protect it.

Through the artistic expressions, the project will include a curated exhibition which will showcase artwork from local groups, reflecting what the ocean means to them. As part of a unique theatre production, a film will bring wisdom and messages from the ocean itself. In addition, the launch of Children’s Oceans Storybooks in multiple languages, sharing messages of hope and action.
